Monthly service package comparison

Many of the financial institutions offer a range of Monthly Service Packages, some designed especially for seniors or students as well as no-frills accounts with minimal or no-fees. Service package fees can start as low as $5.00 per month for a "basic" account, with limited or reduced fees on certain items. A number of banks waive the monthly fee if a minimum balance is maintained (see article about maintaining a miniumm balance) or offer free limited number of transaction. The survey below displays a selection of the high end service packages with all the bells and whistles.

The best way to understanding your banking habits is to calculate if a service package is beneficial to you is ask the following questions:

- What is more important to you: convenience or low fees?
- What are your needs? Keep track of your banking transactions each month to determine your "Pay-as- you-go" average month fees are higher that a service package.
- Do you need to maintain a minimum month balance the activate certain privileges, if so, do you continually qualify?
- Can you pay all your bills on-line?
- Do you use your banks ATM and avoid other Banks or private banking machines?

To help you with these questions, use this quick-banking profile.
